I got this reply from 4th District Congressman Mike Pompeo. Apparently he is for limited government when it comes to lowering taxes and not raising the debt ceiling. But he is for Big Government when it comes to subsidies for aircraft companies or continuing the American Empire abroad. Mike is no libertarian when it comes to personal liberty, he is a drug warrior of the worst kind; pretending to be for smaller government yet still supporting a failed War On Drugs. What a champion of Constitutionality! Yikes.......

Thank you for contacting me with your support for H.R. 2306, the "Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act." I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me. In order to make sound decisions, it is important for me to hear from Kansans.
H.R. 2306 would rescind the federal prohibition on marijuana, giving states jurisdiction in the matter. Marijuana is listed under the Controlled Substances Act as a Schedule I drug. Therefore its manufacture, distribution, and possession are illegal under federal law. Upon introduction, the bill was referred to the House Committees on the Judiciary and Energy & Commerce.
To date, marijuana's alleged therapeutic benefits have not been scientifically proven. In fact, reputable medical professional societies and journals have repeatedly stated that marijuana has no medical benefit. At a time when illegal drug use is increasing, we should not open the door for even more widespread use. I am strongly opposed to the legalization of drugs on both the federal and local levels.
